💸 Is it really free to enter?

Yes! Entry is 100% FREE. Just register HERE and we’ll assign you a heat over the coming weeks.

👤 Can I enter more than once?

Nope — one entry per person. No sneaky aliases, no second chances. Make your first shot count!

🎤 Do I get to pick my song?

Yes — you’ll choose from the Nightlife Karaoke system. A full song list can be seen HERE. Please note these songs are subject to change, be prepared with more than a few selections to avoid possible disappointment! We highly advise spending time in at Blute’s Bar and making yourself comfortable with the Karaoke system, stage and bright lights in the lead up to the event.

🧑‍⚖️ How is it judged?

Each performance is judged by a mix of 50% crowd voting and 50% judges. Support of your friends and family will go along way.

Our crowd voting works very simply - 1 x bar purchase = 1 x vote card.

📅 When will I know my heat date?

You’ll be emailed your heat date after registering, heats are expected to be held on Wednesday evenings from 7pm kicking off in July 2025. Keep an eye on your inbox (and your spam folder, just in case).

🎭 Can I dress up or use props?

Absolutely. Costumes and showmanship are encouraged! Just make sure your performance is safe and respectful to others on stage.

👯 Can I perform as a duo or group?

This comp is for solo performers only. No duets, no bands — just you and the mic.

🏆 What’s the prize again?

The grand prize is a whopping $10,000 in cash — awarded at the final event at The Brightside Brisbane. You must be present to claim it.

🧾 Can I change my heat or song after signing up?

Heat times are locked in once assigned, so please make sure you're available. You can tweak your song choices all the way up until you walk on stage.

Our top tips to becoming Brisbane’s Karaoke Champion!

🏆 1. Song Choice is Everything

Choose a track that suits your voice and gets the crowd going. Whether it’s a power ballad or a dance floor anthem — make it yours. You can see all of the tracks available via our good mates at Nightlife HERE. We highly advise to spend some time in the venue and make yourself familiar at Blute’s with our stage and setup for your first heat round.

🕺 2. Bring the Energy

This is not just about vocals. Move, dance, vibe — light up the stage like you were born for it. Judgeing is 50% Crowd votes and 50% our in-house judges… This means you need to win the crowd over!

📣 3. Work the Crowd

Hype it up. Get your mates cheering and draw the audience in. Crowd love can make all the difference. The more friends and family you bring… The more crowd votes you’ll have. Support is key, get your mates behind you!

🎭 4. Go All Out

Costumes? Props? Back-up dancers? We’re here for it. The more memorable, the better. With $10,000 on the line, we want to see you go all out, this is not your run of the mill Karaoke comp…

💃 5. Confidence is Key

This is your moment, so own it. The best karaoke stars aren’t always the best singers — they’re the ones who believe in the performance. Even if you miss a note, don’t flinch. Laugh it off, lean into it, and keep the show going. Confidence is contagious — if you’re having a blast, the crowd will too. Walk up like you’ve already won, and the mic will feel right at home in your hands.

Karaoke isn’t a solo mission — it’s a vibe check. Look around. Are they hyped up and ready to party? Or are they craving a hands-in-the-air singalong?
Be smart with your choices:

Drop the classic anthem if the crowd’s fired up
Slow it down for a soulful moment if the energy dips
Or go full wildcard and flip the mood with something unexpected
