YOUR SHOUT KARAOKE COMP RULES 2025

Think you’ve got what it takes to become Brisbane’s karaoke champion? Before you take the mic, make sure you’re across the rules:

📋 General Info

  • Entry is FREE — simply register via our official website.

  • You must be 18+ years old to enter.

  • One entry per person — no double-ups!

  • The competition is for solo performers only (no duets or groups).

🎙️ The Competition

  • All heats will be held at Blute’s Bar in Fortitude Valley.

  • Final rounds will be held at The Brightside Brisbane.

  • Every entrant will perform in at least one heat, judged by 50% crowd vote and 50% judges.

  • Contestants will perform at least two songs per heat, selected from the Nightlife Karaoke library (song list available on the signup page).

  • The top performers from each heat will advance through to the finals.

  • The grand prize is $10,000 cash, awarded to the overall winner. The winner must be present at the final to claim the prize.

📣 Promote Your Performance

  • Want to win? Bring your fans! Crowd voting plays a big part, so rally your mates and get them screaming.

  • Performers are encouraged to promote their heat and bring the energy — costumes, hype, and creativity all help.

⚠️ Other Stuff

  • Rules and competition format may be subject to change at the organiser’s discretion.

  • Judges' decisions are final. No bribes. No drama.

HOW TO WIN?

Our top tips to becoming Brisbane’s Karaoke Champion!

🏆 1. Song Choice is Everything

Choose a track that suits your voice and gets the crowd going. Whether it’s a power ballad or a dance floor anthem — make it yours. You can see all of the tracks available via our good mates at Nightlife HERE. We highly advise to spend some time in the venue and make yourself familiar at Blute’s with our stage and setup for your first heat round.

🕺 2. Bring the Energy

This is not just about vocals. Move, dance, vibe — light up the stage like you were born for it. Judgeing is 50% Crowd votes and 50% our in-house judges… This means you need to win the crowd over!

📣 3. Work the Crowd

Hype it up. Get your mates cheering and draw the audience in. Crowd love can make all the difference. The more friends and family you bring… The more crowd votes you’ll have. Support is key, get your mates behind you!

🎭 4. Go All Out

Costumes? Props? Back-up dancers? We’re here for it. The more memorable, the better. With $10,000 on the line, we want to see you go all out, this is not your run of the mill Karaoke comp…

💃 5. Confidence is Key

This is your moment, so own it. The best karaoke stars aren’t always the best singers — they’re the ones who believe in the performance. Even if you miss a note, don’t flinch. Laugh it off, lean into it, and keep the show going. Confidence is contagious — if you’re having a blast, the crowd will too. Walk up like you’ve already won, and the mic will feel right at home in your hands.

Karaoke isn’t a solo mission — it’s a vibe check. Look around. Are they hyped up and ready to party? Or are they craving a hands-in-the-air singalong?
Be smart with your choices:

  • Drop the classic anthem if the crowd’s fired up

  • Slow it down for a soulful moment if the energy dips

  • Or go full wildcard and flip the mood with something unexpected
